King Kong Bundy: Legendary wrestler dies at age 61

Professional wrestler King Kong Bundy has died. He died on Monday at age 61; the cause of his death is however yet to be disclosed. His promoter and longtime friend David Herro broke the news on Facebook.

“Today we lost a Legend and a man I consider family.”

King Kong Bundy stepped into limelight on April 7, 1986, when he faced Hulk Hogan in a steel cage ring where he crushed his opponent’s rib cage. Remembering the fellow wrestler, Hulk Hogan tweeted:

“Overwhelmed by King Kong Bundy’s passing, only great memories, R.I.P. big man until we meet again.”

Another wrestler of that era, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, tweeted:

“Can’t hardly believe my friend Chris Pallies aka King Kong Bundy has passed away. Very sad news he was a kind soul. Rest In Peace Brother until we meet again.”
