Ogun Guber: Gov Abiodun wins at Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital today ruled on the governorship appeal involving Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his challenger, Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The Appeal Court upheld the September 14 judgment of the Ogun State governorship election petitions tribunal.

The Yusuf Halilu-led tribunal had earlier declared Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 9 governorship election in Ogun State.

The panel of the Appeal Court presided over by Justice Abubakar Yahaya, dismissed the appeal filed by Hon. Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

The court said the appeal lacks merit, saying it stands by the decision of the lower tribunal.
