Police arrest, brutalise journalists, activists during Independence Day protest (Photos)

As Nigeria celebrates 60th Independence Anniversary, some journalists and activists under the platform of RevolutionNow who stormed the streets of Lagos to show their displeasure and demand an end to bad governance were arrested by the police.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the aggrieved Nigerians more than 200 marched from the streets of Ojota to Maryland in Lagos, chanting songs of solidarity.

Recall that Nigeria marked 60 years of its independence from Britain on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the protest was disrupted by security operatives towards the end of the march.

Some activists and journalists were arrested by security operatives, leading to some persons sustaining injuries.
