Slain Katsina commissioner, Nasir, buried

Dr. Rabe Nasir, the Katsina state Commissioner of Science and Technology who was assassinated by unidentified individuals, has been laid to rest.

After a funeral prayer, his body was interred at Katsina’s Gidan Dawa cemetery on Friday.

The funeral prayer was held shortly after the Juma’at prayer at GRA Juma’at mosque and was led by the mosque’s Chief Imam, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi.

Gov. Aminu Masari and a Federal Government delegation led by President Muhammad Buhari’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Rtd Gen. Babagana Mongunu, were among the dignitaries who attended the funeral prayer.

Special prayers were offered at the mosque for the repose of late Nasir’s soul and the safety of the nation.

The delegation had earlier visited the Katsina government house to express condolences to the governor and the deceased’s immediate family.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), late Nasir was brutally murdered on Wednesday in his home in Fatima Shema Estate, Katsina metropolis, by unidentified assailants.
