Remain hopeful, have trust in God – Etsu Karu admonishes Nigerians

The Etsu Karu, Luka Panya-Baba, has charged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to trust in God during difficult times.

Panya-Baba advised Nigerians during the Sixth Christmas Carol Service in New karu.

According to him, the theme: ”The Reliable one, in an unreliable World”, is a wake up call for Christian faithful to trust God to deliver them from whatever difficulties they are facing.

“At a time like this when people face different challenges, overwhelming fear and uncertainty, it is good to lift the spirit of the people, encourage them to hold on and trust in God,” he said.

Panya-Baba also called on well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to extend support to the needy in Karu Local Government Area (LGA).

He noted that they should do this as part of their social responsibilities to society.

Speaking about the carol service, Panya-Baba stated it’s a thanksgiving to God for his divine grace and mercies throughout the year and in preparations for the new year.

He noted that the essence of Christmas is to give and assist the less-privileged for peace to reign in society.

Panya-Baba appealed to Christian faithful to celebrate Christmas with modesty and avoid unnecessary expenses as he expressed concern over the economic situation in the country.

“Let us be prudent in spending, after the festivities comes all and even more of our responsibilities, house rents, school resumption, stocking the house with food.

Panya-Baba added that in Etsu Karu, they promote unity and peace, communal living, and tolerance for one another, a move he urged Nigerians to emulate.

“For us in Karu, we are engaging our women and youth in empowerment programmes, especially with the youths skills acquisition, small skills businesses for them to be self-reliant.

Panya-Baba solicited the help of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for intervention projects aimed at reducing crime and poverty.

He said in doing so, they are able to minimise securiy challenges, cultism, drug abuse and other social vices in the community.

He expressed optimism that the country would come out stronger from its current challenges.

The President of Gospel Youth Mission (GYM), Mr Paul Solomonru also stated that the carol is to preach Christ, the redeemer of the world.

The GYM president advised Christians to wait on the Lord though all trials and temptations as victory against turbulent times will surely come in the end.

The event which was attended by Christians from various denominations was staged to mark the Christmas season, with the massage centering on the creation of man and the coming of Jesus Christ to redeem mankind.
