The wife of Borno Governor, Dr Falmata Zulum, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria, Ahmed Elkachachi, a 102-year-old Pan Africanist, Mrs Josephine Ezeanyache, and others were among those honored with the 2021 African Peace Ambassador Awards on Sunday night, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to NAN, the African Peace Ambassador Awards 2021 are being organized by the Distinguished Peace Medal Agency.
Farouk Garo, Special Assistant to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Youth Empowerment, Mr Jide Odusolu, Chief Executive Officer of Oct05 Homes, and Adaku Oseiza were also honored.
Suleiman Adejo, Olayeta Abdulazzeez, Musa Ibro, Temisa Louis, Dominic Ikechukwu, Ella Joe, Alhaji Ahmed Ramalan, Barry Johnson, and many others are also among those honored.
Zulum, the founder of the Multi Aid and Charity Initiative, expressed her delight at receiving the African Peace Ambassador Award.

“Awards and recognition like this are yet another way for us to celebrate the work we do.” “I dedicate this award to all vulnerable women and children in Borno, in particular, and in Africa in general,” Zulum said.
According to NAN, Dr Amina Mohammed Dikwa, President and Founder of the Amina Dikwa Foundation, represented Zulum.
Similarly, Garo stated that peace would undoubtedly come to Nigeria after observing a one-minute silence for travelers killed in an accident in Sokoto State.
He thanked Ganduje, the award’s convener, as well as his parents and wife, for winning the award, emphasizing that there would be no empowerment without peace.
Speaking on stage with his wife and three children to accept his award, Elkachachi assured the organisers/convener and Nigeria that his hands were always open to promote peace.
Mama Josephine accepts her award on stage with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Ezeanyache, who founded Zumunta, (Hausa), Omo Yoruba National Association (Yoruba), and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the United States, thanked the organizers for the award.
Dr Chris Odey, Convener of the African Peace Ambassador Awards, also spoke, saying, “We are calling on the young ones to push this agenda of peace by uniting and knowing that it is their rights to rule, own the position, and always speak the truth.”
“I urge Nigerian youths to band together and promote peace through their thoughts, words, and actions.”
“This is a yearly award ceremony.” The recipients are charged with preaching, building, and communicating peace in their homes, offices, communities, and states.
