Cleric urges Christians to get committed in God’s service

Rev. Canon Maxwell Onyia, a cleric, has urged Christians to become involved in God’s service because of the numerous benefits and rewards.

Onyia, the Priest in Charge of the Anglican Church of Ascension in Enugu, made the admonition while delivering a homily on Sunday during the church’s End-of-the-Year Thanksgiving Service.

The cleric, speaking on the topic “Faith: A Harbinger of Godly Favour,” stated that Christians‘ commitment should be based on their total faith in the limitless power of God Almighty.

He observed that God had made everything possible for mankind through His work of salvation.

Onyia, on the other hand, observed that most of the time, our lack of faith and genuine commitment to serve God had prevented many from enjoying the abundance of God’s overwhelming blessings and rewards.

“The content of our salvation is so rich with many benefits and rewards; however, only those who become committed to God are entitled to these enormous benefits and rewards.”

“The content of our salvation in Jesus Christ also includes wonderful packages such as deliverance from sin, backwardness, curses, and depression,” he explained.

The cleric also prayed for the country’s socioeconomic progress as well as financial prosperity for families.
