Court remands man for allegedly stealing generator set worth N32,000

A Kano Sharia Court sitting in Fagge on Thursday, ordered the remand of a 25-year-old man, Inuwa Abdullahi in a Correctional centre for allegedly stealing generator and wrist watch worth N32,000.

The defendant, who resides at Hausawa Quarters Kano, is facing a two-count charge bordering on criminal house trespass and theft.

The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre and adjourned the matter until Jan. 21,2022 for sentence.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Abdul Wada, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec.16, at Hausawa Quarters, Kano.

He said that on the same date at about 3:30 p.m., the defendant criminally trespassed into the house of Muhammed Bello and stole a Tiger brand generator (blue colour) worth N20,000 and a wrist watch worth N12,000 and sold it to another person for just N7,000.

“The said items were found in possession of the defendant including a stolen shirt and other exhibits.” He said

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provision of sections 213, 133 of the Kano State Sharia Law
