The Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirm one death and 47 new COVID-19 infections on Friday.
NCDC reported on Saturday that the figures were generated in eight of the 36 states of the federation.
The report also stated that the new infections brought the number of infected in the country to 253,970 and the death toll to 3,140.
Lagos State recorded 22 of the new infections, while the FCT, Kwara and Osun State recorded five cases each.
Delta and Kaduna State had three cases each; Jigawa reported two cases, while Nasarawa and Rivers had one case each.
According to NCDC, 24 persons recuperated from the virus in the last 24 hours and had been discharged from isolation centres, adding that the total number of recoveries stood at 230,317.
