NYSC DG urges corps members to obey rules, be good ambassadors

The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim has charged corps members to adhere to its bye-laws and be good ambassadors of the scheme in their places of primary assignment.
Ibrahim gave the charge on Thursday at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course at Kusalla Orientation camp in Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.
Represented by Aisha Muhammad, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Ibrahim said that erring corps members would be sanctioned for violating its bye-laws and the Oath of allegiance.
He advised the corps members to utilise the opportunities of the service year to excel in life.
The NYSC boss also urged the corps members to take advantage of their enrolment into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to improve their health status.
He also urged the corps members to take advantage of the scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme designed to equip them on wealth creation.
He commended the National Assembly for the progress made on the Bill to establish the NYSC Trust Fund.
“I wish to passionately appeal to appropriate authorities to facilitate the success of the remaining processes that would bring the trust fund to fruition,” he said.
While calling on employers to accept NYSC members posted to them, Ibrahim urged corps members to be security conscious.
