Bolaji Jeje emerges PDP candidate for Surulere constituency

Mr Bolaji Jeje, (“Bobby Jeje”) has emerged winner of the PDP House of Representatives primary election for  Surulere constituency I.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the election was held at the  Obele Odan Community Hall, Akerele, amid a heavy security presence.

Four aspirants and 18 ad-hoc delegates participated in the election that kicked off at 2.45 p.m. and ended at 2.57 p.m.

The other aspirants were  Mr Akeem Olalemi, Mr Damilola Adewara, and Mr Akinkunmi Thomas.

Mrs Paula Iweniora, the PDP Returning Officer,   announced that Jeje polled seven votes, Mr Akeem Olalemi – six votes, Mr Damilola Adewara -five votes and Akinkunmi Thomas -nil.

“I now declare Mr Bolaji Jeje as the winner for the primary election in surulere constituency I,  haven won the highest votes,” he said.

Mrs Mammy Balami and Mr Femi Williams electoral officers from PDP Abuja were also present to witness the process.

Jeje told NAN that the election was free and fair and “I just won the election by the grace of God.

“I contested with three other aspirants. Winning feels good cause I  have been doing this for so long.

“I have been contesting for 16 years from  2019 and every time I contest,  I come second, so this time around it’s special for me.

“My aim is to do things differently.  Surulere should know that now they have their own son that will be representing them and bring forth good things to them,” he said.

NAN reports that family, friends and party members besieged the venue to celebrate the winner, while youths and residents in the community also took to the streets in jubilation.
