Ex- speaker, house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara has prayed for the restoration of peace and economic prosperity in Nigeria as Muslims marked the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This is contained in a Sallah message signed by Mr Turaki Hassan, Media aide to the former speaker on Saturday.
Dogara stated the need for Nigerians to show more love, respect for others, patriotism and fervent prayers.
He further urged people to be more tolerant of one another irrespective of their religious, political or ethnic affinity.
“I am Wishing Muslim faithful across the country happy Eid-el- Kabir celebrations.
“May we reflect on those who are suffering as we mark this holy festival.
“I pray for the restoration of peace and economic prosperity in Nigeria. Eid Mubarak,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to pray fervently for God’s protection and deliverance of the nation from its current challenges.
“The occasion calls for gratitude to God, for peace and unity of the country,”
