The Judge, Muhammad Adamu, issued the warrant, following an oral application by the prosecution counsel, Babajide Olanipekun who noted that the defendant was absent to defend the charge against him.

Adamu also ordered that the sureties be served notices to show cause why the bail bond entered should not be forfeited.

He adjourned the matter until Oct. 23 for hearing.

The police had charged the defendant with criminal intimidation which he pleaded not guilty to.

Earlier Olanipekun told the court that the complainant, Akan Udo of Arab Road, Kubwa, reported the matter at the Divisional Headquarters Byazhin on April 22.

He alleged that the defendant, a brother to the complainant, went to the complainant ‘s compound, threatening to break his head with a bottle.

The prosecution counsel further alleged that the defendant said that his mother should die so that he would take over her property.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 397 of the Penal Code.
