Ijaw Diaspora Council mourns death of Igali’s mother

Igali, 84, mother to the diplomat, passed on peacefully on July 28, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa capital.

Igali is a Nigerian public servant, diplomat, author and scholar.

In a condolence letter signed by Prof. Mondy Gold, the Presidentof IDC, said it joined the people of Bayelsa and all peace-loving people across the globe to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

“We at the Ijaw Diaspora Council (IDC), wish to express our condolences to you and your entire family on the death of your mother, Madam Fanny Igali, who passed on peacefully.

“She was a beacon of hope for many and was a foremost professional caterer and hotel manager, who worked as a catering officer, Government House in the old Rivers State

“She also distinguished herself as catering officer, Borno College of Basic Studies (BOCOPS), as well as Manager, Lake Chad Hotel, Maiduguri, Borno,”  IDC president said.

Extolling her virtues, Gold said that the deceased was equally a well-respected community leader, an educationist and a devout member of the Deeper Life Bible Church.

He said that her lifelong commitment to discipline, kindness and generosity, which impacted her children and students, left a legacy of service to God and humanity.

“We wish you divine comfort as you go through the period of grief and may God be with you and give you the strength to deal with your loss,’’ IDC  said.
