What informed my House of Reps ambition – Edo PDP candidate

Mr Sunny Aguebor, the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Oredo Federal Constituency, Edo,  says his ambition to vie for the seat is borne out of his desire to set standards for representation in Nigeria.

Aguebor stated this while speaking with our correspondent on Wednesday in Benin shortly after he received his certificate of return as PDP candidate.

The PDP candidate asserted that he was anxious of replicating his private life achievements in the public space for the common good of the people.

“My decision is formed by the fact that I have been very anxious to use the instrument of government to develop my people.

“Before now, I have done a lot in my private life, in individual capacity to impact very seriously on the lives of the people of my local government (Oredo).

“Now, I believe given the instrument of government, I can do much more better.

“When I also look at the kind of people that have gone to represent our people in the past, I believe they did their best, but to me, that is not enough.

“We are going to set a new benchmark for representation in Oredo federal constituency and in Nigeria,” he said.

The House of Representatives hopeful said “it is true Nigeria needs to be rescued,” but noted that only genuine and patriotic people like him could achieve that.

“We need people, who are genuine, who are patriotic, who believe in this country to come on board and represent their people at the national assembly, so that they can contribute to their development and rescue Nigeria.

“I can assure you that I will give in my best. I have a record of performance in my individual life. I want to replicate it in public life,” Aguebor said.

On youth empowerment, he said though the mandate of the legislature were lawmaking and oversight function, he however promise to do his best for the young generation.
