A Federal High Court, Abuja

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday ordered the remand of one Usman Musibau, 25, in a Correctional Centre for allegedly possesing locally made pistol.

Musibau, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with possession of locally made pistol.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Akande, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

She adjourned the case until Dec. 15, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Sept. 30, at about 10:00 a.m, at Ojoo area, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that Musibau unlawfully possessed the pistol which he could not satisfactorily give account of.

He said the offence contravened Section 3 of the Robbery and Firearms Act of Nigeria, 2004.
