Police arraign 4 unemployed men, minor for constituting nuisance

The police arraigned four unemployed men and a minor on Thursday in an Upper Area court in Karu, Abuja for allegedly constituting nuisance.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Olanrewaju Osho, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Oct. 4, in the Nyanya area of Abuja.

The defendants include, Mike Mbah,36; Daniel Peter,35; Genesis Elijah,20; Timothy Dyana, 27 and a 17-year-old boy with constituting nuisance.

According to Osho, the patrol team attached to the Nyanya police station, Abuja, while patrolling around black spots in Nyanya, arrested the defendants.

He said the defendants could not give satisfactory explanation as to what they were all doing at the black spot during the police investigation.

Osho added that the offence, contravened the provisions of Section 199 of the Penal Code.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Malam Hassan Mohammed, the presiding Judge, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10, 000 each with one surety each in like sum.

The Judge ordered that the surety must live within the court jurisdiction, provide National I.D card and Drivers’ license which should be deposited to the court and address verified by court officer.

The judge adjourned the case until Oct. 31.
