ADC Ikorodu Constituency I candidate empowers 50 youths

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ikorodu Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Oladapo Moses has empowered 50 youths on telecom business on Saturday in Ikorodu.

During the empowerment, Moses told newsmen that beneficiaries were selected through recommendations from each ward.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the empowerment was organised under the guidance of Joint Association of Non-indigenes (JANIN) and sponsored by Osmosis Campaign Organisation, supporting Moses’ ambition.

Participants who arrived early got their wallets credited with various sums once token was received after start up data was shared.

Moses added that the beneficiaries were empowered to start telecom business services with Glo, Airtel, 9mobile and MTN.

At Osco, Oladapo Moses Campaign Organisation, we believe it is better we empower our constituents.

This is what we do, not because of this coming election but because it is part of us.

We believe when the people are empowered, they will not be running to politicians for ‘little little things’.

The politicians can then face good governance and the people in turn will demand for result of governance, in what is seen as norms in most places, he said.

Furthermore, he said that plans are in top gear to empower many people in the constituency on different skills so that they would be independent.

Also, he promised to continue to empower people if reelected.

According to him, there were project directors on their team and very soon, a full roll-out schedule would be available for the benefit of his constituents.

He urged beneficiaries to ensure the judicious use of the opportunity given to them in order to be independent and be able to take care of their families.

We have a series of empowerment lined up this campaign season, and once we win, it will continue; empowering our people is a continuous programme and will be scaled higher as time goes on.

We have programmes for the youths, women, men, primary and secondary school students, and in various sectors, we decided to start with this so as to encourage all little beginners.

Recharge card business is like pure water used by everyone who has phone.

You can start by crediting your wallet with as low as N100 and as much as any amount with profit from three per cent to five per cent and presently, middle men are reduced  to nil, as business is directly registered with the telecoms,” he said.

A beneficiary, Mr Atere Opeyemi, lauded Moses for his kind gesture and he advised members to utilise the empowerment judiciously.

Opeyemi advised the beneficiaries to ensure their Permanent Voter Cards are intact to elect candidates of ADC in the forthcoming general election.
