A Magistrates\u2019 Court in Kaduna, on Monday ordered that a 19-year-old student, Emmanuel Lukman be remanded in a Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a minor in the state.<\/p>\n

Lukman who resides in Ungwan Fulani Palladan Zaria, Kaduna, is charged with defilement.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel did not take Lukman\u2019s plea for want of jurisdiction.<\/p>\n

Emmanuel adjourned the case until Feb. 4, for mention.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Chidi Leo told the court that the case was transferred from the Samaru Division Police Station<\/a>, Zaria to the State Criminal Investigation Department on Jan. 12.<\/p>\n

The prosecution alleged that Lukman lured the victim into his room where he committed the crime.<\/p>\n

Leo said that investigation into the matter was still ongoing and prayed the court for an adjournment.<\/p>\n

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 258 of the Penal Code of Kaduna, 2020 (as amended).<\/p>\n
