A. Shotobi, said the defendant should remain behind bars pending sentence.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The defendant, whose address was not stated, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The prosecutor, Insp. Christian Okonofua, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 24 and Jan. 26, in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Okonofua said that the defendant withdrew the sum of N420,000 from a First Bank account, belonging to one Mrs Elizabeth Lawanson, without her consent and converted same to her personal use.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Section 280, punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, and attracts a sentence of three years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Shotobi adjourned the case until Feb. 17, for sentencing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Ikorodu Magistrates\u2019 Court on Monday, ordered that a 20-year-old woman, Sarah Bamishaye, who pleaded guilty to stealing N420,000 be remanded behind bars.
