{"id":11099,"date":"2022-02-08T07:08:05","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T07:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=11099"},"modified":"2022-02-08T07:09:58","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T07:09:58","slug":"yobe-healthcare-scheme-to-incorporate-informal-sector-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/08\/yobe-healthcare-scheme-to-incorporate-informal-sector-official\/","title":{"rendered":"Yobe healthcare scheme to incorporate informal sector \u2013 Official"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/17\/digital-switch-to-be-completed-in-yobe-soon-commissioner-for-information-and-culture-assures\/\">Yobe State<\/a> Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA), says it has begun stakeholders engagement to fast track incorporation of the informal sector into the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Babagana Tijjani, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Tijjani said, \u201cas part of preparations to incorporate informal sector into the state\u2019s contributory health scheme, the agency has commenced a strategic stakeholders engagement meeting in the state.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the programme will target self-employed groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/04\/bauchi-farmers-applaud-fgs-anchor-borrowers-programme\/\">farmers<\/a>, marketers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/02\/traders-storm-calabar-street-to-protest-eviction-from-local-market\/\">traders<\/a> and market women groups.<\/p>\n<p>Others were the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), tricycle riders, cattle breeders, vulcanisers, mechanics, tailoring and fashion design associations as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/02\/alleged-killer-of-visually-impaired-brother-in-anambra-state-apprehended-by-police\/\">Civil Society Organisations<\/a> (CSOs).<\/p>\n<p>The gesture, he said, was part of a deliberate attempt to achieve universal health coverage in the state.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the programme was designed to increase access to affordable and quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/07\/covid-19-south-african-health-regulators-approve-sinopharm-covid-vaccine\/\">healthcare<\/a> delivery to the people.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Secretary further commended Gov.
