The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps,(NYSC), Maj.- Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim has commended Nigerians for their supports to the proposed NYSC Trust Fund Bill before the National Assembly<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n

Ibrahim, represented by the NYSC Ekiti Coordinator, Mrs Mary Chikieze, gave the commendation on Tuesday, at the official swearing-in ceremony of the 2022 Batch A, Corps members at Ekiti Permanent Orientation Camp, in Emure-Ekiti, Emure Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

The NYSC boss appealed to the appropriate authorities to provide the necessary enablement for the actualisation of the trust fund, if eventually passed and assent to.<\/p>\n

He said the bill if passed would ensure smooth operation of the NYSC scheme in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NYSC Trust Fund Bill will surely enhance the smooth operation of the Scheme, if passed and assent to by President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis bill will address the infrastructural deficit as well as empower Corps members at self-reliant and wealth creation,\u201d Ibrahim said.<\/p>\n

He commended the zeal demonstrated by the Corps members through acceptance of their deployment and prompt report to the camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dear compatriots, the Orientation Course is the first cardinal Programme of NYSC, and is aimed at introducing you to the objectives and programmes of the Scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is designed to equip you for the tasks ahead in your service year. I therefore enjoin you to avail yourselves to this \u201conce-in-a-life-time opportunity by participating actively in all camp activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me also remind you that the oath of allegiance you have taken today is significant, as it is expected to guide your conduct in the Service Year as well as have an everlasting influence on your life after service,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He implored the corps members to sustain the high level of discipline and enthusiasm they have demonstrated, especially by remaining compliant with the Camp rules and regulations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also urge you to avoid using social media to spread fake news to fuel hatred among the nation\u2019s citizenry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He called on them to adhere strictly to the outlined preventive measures of curbing COVID-19, take the vaccine and be security conscious at all times.<\/p>\n
