The<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/23\/kaduna-attack-police-deploy-more-operatives-to-kaura-jemaa-lgas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> police<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> charged Mohammed with theft.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Oriyomi Akinwale, told the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/07\/ekiti-court-remands-man-over-alleged-abetting-kidnapping\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> court<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that the defendant committed the offence on March 18 at about 10 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He alleged that the goat which was found in the defendant\u2019s possession was suspected to be stolen. He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 430 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The prosecutor asked the Court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Defence Counsel, Mr Tunmise Akinwumi, urged the court to admit his client bail in the most liberal terms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chief Magistrate Bankole Oluwasanmi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N25,000 with one surety in like sum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He adjourned the case until May 5 for a hearing.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 29-year-old man, Abubakar Mohammed, was on Wednesday docked in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly being in possession of a stolen she-goat.
