The latest report has revealed that the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Plateau State, will be the host of the 2024 edition of the Nigerian Universities Games Association<\/a> (NUGA).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n

\n

UNIJOS won the right to host the sport event ahead of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, while the University of Calabar withdrew its bid for the games.<\/p>\n

Joe Apu, the media representative of UNIJOS, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIJOS, Prof. Tanko Ishaya, said he is elated to have the university as the school of choice.<\/p>\n

The statement added that Ishaya promised to provide a state-of-the-art facilities state that athletes and officials would be proud of.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe have been longing and looking forward to this opportunity, and we thank God and all the people that made it possible for us to get the hosting right.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe are delighted that we bidded for the games and won. We\u2019re grateful to the Chairman of the University of Jos, Governing Council Prof. Attahiru Jega, for backing us.<\/p>\n

\u201dPlans are already on ground for facilities and infrastructure which will gladden the hearts of athletes and officiating officials as well as NUGA officials,\u201d the statement quoted Ishaya as saying.<\/p>\n

According to him, the 27th edition of the Games in 2024 will go down in history as one to be remembered.<\/p>\n

He also assured athletes and officials of security, adding that the state government was working round the clock to ensure that they would be secured.<\/p>\n

\u201dUNIJOS is safe for NUGA and by the grace of God, we will host the best NUGA Games.<\/p>\n
