Oba Olalekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadanland<\/a>, has charged the newly-elevated chiefs in the Ibadan traditional system, to work in unity for the growth, progress, and development of Ibadanland.<\/a><\/p>\n

The traditional ruler gave the charge on Friday in his palace, while performing the elevation exercise for seven chiefs that got promoted in the Balogun line of the Ibadan traditional system.<\/p>\n

He said that the task of taking Ibadan to another level calls for the cooperation and support of all.<\/p>\n

He said that there was a need for unity of purpose among the chiefs in order for him and members of his Advisory Council to drive the expected agenda of Ibadan\u2019s growth and development.<\/p>\n

According to the Olubadan, the task of directing the affairs of the ancient city is a responsibility for all, especially those saddled with leadership roles, among whom are the traditional title holders.<\/p>\n

He tasked them to be alive and conscious of their new roles in the Ibadan traditional system.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the elevated chiefs, the new Gbonka and Aare Onibon, Kayode Afolabi Kadelu, and Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke respectively, commended the Olubadan and promised to heed his call for cooperation.<\/p>\n

The duo pledged that all the elevated chiefs would work for the progress of Ibadanland and that they would do their best towards a better Ibadan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly-decorated chiefs in the Balogun line are Taofeek Ayoade (Lagunna), Lateef Akintola (Oota), Nureni Akanbi (Aaregbeomo), Kayode Kadelu (Gbonka), Taofeek Adegoke (Aare Onibon), Monsur Arulogun (Bada) and Tayewo Ige (Ajia).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
