{"id":16722,"date":"2022-04-05T05:58:43","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=16722"},"modified":"2022-04-05T05:58:43","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T05:58:43","slug":"hotelier-to-appear-in-court-for-allegedly-raping-corp-member","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/05\/hotelier-to-appear-in-court-for-allegedly-raping-corp-member\/","title":{"rendered":"Hotelier to appear in court for allegedly raping corp member"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>A hotel manager, who allegedly raped a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/24\/nysc-tasks-corps-members-on-preventive-measures-against-covid-19\/\">National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)<\/a> member in Osogbo, will appear in court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>SP Yemisi Opalola, the Police Spokesperson, Osun Command, Nigeria Police, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview.<\/p>\n<p>Opalola said that police had concluded an investigation on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), investigating the matter, has completed its investigation and would, any moment from tomorrow (Tuesday), charge the suspect to court,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Opalola said that the management of NYSC in Osun was following up on the case and providing the needed support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are an interested party in the matter, being guardians and parents in charge of the wellbeing of corps members in the state,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>NAN reports that the manager of the hotel, located around the GRA Area in Osogbo, was arrested by the police for allegedly raping a female corps member serving at his hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The incident was reported to have occurred at about 8:30 p.m on March 25, when the victim was on duty.<\/p>\n<p>The matter was reported at the Police Station, Dugbe in Osogbo, by other corps members serving in the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The victim had explained to her colleagues that, while she was on duty, the manager ordered her to bring a bottle of beer to his hotel room, which she did.<\/p>\n<p>She further said the manager engaged her in a conversation about her plan after the service year, adding from that point, the manager&#8221; started touching and rough handling&#8221; her.<\/p>\n<p>The victim said she fought and resisted the manager\u2019s move, but was overpowered and had his way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A hotel manager, who allegedly raped a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Osogbo, will appear in court on Tuesday.
