{"id":17913,"date":"2022-04-11T11:22:29","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T11:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=17913"},"modified":"2022-04-11T11:23:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T11:23:47","slug":"man-docked-for-alleged-assault-breach-of-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/11\/man-docked-for-alleged-assault-breach-of-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"Man docked for alleged assault, breach of peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The police in Lagos State on Monday arraigned a 26-year-old man, Sunday Nwolu in<br \/>\na Badagry Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly using a broken bottle to stab Uche Onele.<\/p>\n<p>Nwolu, whose address is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/24\/enugu-lg-polls-unknown-gunmen-attack-polling-units-burn-3-vehicles\/\">unknown<\/a>, is being arraigned on two-count charge of assault and breach of peace.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that Nwolu committed the offence on March 20<br \/>\nat about 7.30 p.m at Alafia Bus Stop on Ikoga Zebbe Road, Badagry Area of Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Okuiomose said that the 26-year-old allegedly assaulted Onele by stabbing him on his neck and caused him bodily harm.<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cthe defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of public <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/10\/nasarawa-speaker-others-task-tiv-community-on-peaceful-co-existence\/\">peace<\/a> by stabbing the complainant on the neck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe complainant reported him at the Police Station and he was arraigned at the Court of law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 172 and 168 of the <a href=\"http:\/\/hCriminalttps:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/30\/insecurity-el-rufai-warns-communities-against-shielding-criminals\/\">Criminal<\/a> Law of Lagos State 2015.<\/p>\n<p>However, Nwolu pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000<br \/>\nwith two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/09\/tinubu-greets-dangote-at-65-april-9-2022-by-williams-adekunle\/\">April<\/a> 27 for mention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The police in Lagos State on Monday arraigned a 26-year-old man, Sunday Nwolu in a Badagry Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly using a broken bottle to stab Uche Onele.
