{"id":18202,"date":"2022-04-12T15:44:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T15:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=18202"},"modified":"2022-04-12T15:44:04","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T15:44:04","slug":"police-arraign-man-for-allegedly-stealing-employers-property-worth-n2-9m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/12\/police-arraign-man-for-allegedly-stealing-employers-property-worth-n2-9m\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arraign man for allegedly stealing employer\u2019s property worth N2.9m"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Joshua Anebi, a worker, was on Tuesday arraigned at an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/11\/27-year-old-docked-for-stealing-musical-equipment-worth-n500000\/\"><strong>Ogudu Magistrates\u2019 court<\/strong><\/a> for allegedly stealing his employer\u2019s property worth N2.9m.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, residing at Ketu, was charged with criminal conspiracy and theft.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecutor, Insp.Sunday Bassey, the defendant committed the offences between Jan. 2022 and Feb. 2022 at Ogudu.<\/p>\n<p>Bassey informed the court that the defendant conspired with one other at large and stole the property of their employer, one Williams Oladimeji, while he was away on a business trip.<\/p>\n<p>He also disclosed that the defendant allegedly stole 7 smart television sets valued at N1.9 million and a split standing air conditioner valued N1 million from his employer\u2019s shop all totaling N2.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.<br \/>\nBassey urged the court to fix a date for commencement of the trial.<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate, Mrs O.A.
