{"id":18930,"date":"2022-04-15T13:34:33","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T13:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=18930"},"modified":"2022-04-15T13:34:33","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T13:34:33","slug":"lcci-brokers-collaborate-to-deepen-insurance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/15\/lcci-brokers-collaborate-to-deepen-insurance\/","title":{"rendered":"LCCI, Brokers collaborate to deepen insurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has expressed readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) by selling the values of insurance to the organised private sector.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A statement made available on Thursday in Lagos said that the LCCI President, Dr Michael Olawale-Cole, gave assurance to members of the NCRIB\u2019s delegation, led by its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/12\/ex-deputy-speaker-ndukwe-joins-2023-presidential-race\/\">President<\/a>, Mr Rotimi Edu, during a courtesy visit.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Olawale-Cole noted that the chamber<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">would offer the brokers formidable financial advocacy platforms to propagate knowledge about the values of insurance to business and commerce.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He explained that the two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/14\/un-tasks-apc-on-peaceful-inclusive-2023-poll\/\">organisations<\/a> would have a lot to do together under his administration as the president.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Olawale-Cole charged members of the NCRIB to join LCCI, which is the second oldest chamber of commerce in Africa.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In his response, the NCRIB President stated that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/09\/iwd-2022-un-official-advocates-economic-empowerment-for-women\/\">council\u2019s<\/a> visit to LCCI was part of its strategic engagement with professional bodies.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This, he said, is in a bid to propagate its relevance among the organised private sector in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/15\/operational-costs-for-nigeria-others-to-go-up-by-136m-un\/\">Nigeria<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Edu urged that the chamber use its platform to educate its members on the importance of all the compulsory insurances.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He noted that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/19\/health-insurance-underway-for-senior-citizens-retirees-omokaro\/\">insurance<\/a> industry had not taken its rightful place, in terms of patronage and public acceptance<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWe will appreciate that your chamber get the NCRIB involved in some of your programmes both at international and national levels by giving room for the council to tell its story.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cIf the chamber preaches this to all its members, it will ensure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/11\/micro-small-and-medium-entrepreneurs-express-satisfaction-over-exhibition\/\">comfortability<\/a> in times of claims payment,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has expressed readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) by selling the values of insurance to the organised private sector.
