{"id":19467,"date":"2022-04-17T19:13:43","date_gmt":"2022-04-17T19:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=19467"},"modified":"2022-04-17T19:13:43","modified_gmt":"2022-04-17T19:13:43","slug":"ngo-offers-free-medical-services-for-nasarawa-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/17\/ngo-offers-free-medical-services-for-nasarawa-communities\/","title":{"rendered":"NGO offers free medical services for Nasarawa communities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Teen Ambassadors Foundation (TAF) has offered free medical services for communities in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n<p>The medical intervention include screening and treatment for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/11\/28\/jigawa-lg-begins-fumigation-to-combat-malaria\/\">malaria<\/a>, typhoid, peptic ulcer, urinary tract infections, and hypertension.<\/p>\n<p>Others are diabetes, skin diseases, Hepatitis B and C infections, as well as pelvic inflammatory diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Reports that doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists and pharmacists were on ground to offer services free of charge to adults and children from the communities.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Paul Adiwu, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/16\/foundation-conducts-free-medical-outreach-for-police-paramilitary-in-lagos\/\">foundation<\/a>,\u00a0 said the gesture was borne out of the corporate social responsibility of the NGO.<\/p>\n<p>Adiwu says the NGO intends to make the medical outreach a quarterly affair, adding that the intervention is not for any particular class but for all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/16\/betrayal-part-of-life-embrace-holy-books-teachings-lagos-residents\/\">residents<\/a> of Luvu Madaki and its environs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know the times we are living in now and sometimes basically we reach out to people, trying to provide food and other items that can sustain them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, we found out that even with the food, some people cannot eat because of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/16\/nma-decries-misplaced-aggression-as-brain-drain-overstretches-government-health-workers\/\">health<\/a> challenges and we felt it is good we come up with this initiative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Adiwu said that it was imperative for the residents to be tested first to know their ailments before administering appropriate medication.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to TAF for the gesture.<\/p>\n<p>They said it would go a long way in improving their well-being and called on other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/01\/youtube-to-support-two-nigerian-organizations-working-to-boost-africas-creative-economy\/\">organizations<\/a> to emulate the gesture<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Teen Ambassadors Foundation (TAF) has offered free medical services for communities in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
