{"id":20575,"date":"2022-04-22T12:14:59","date_gmt":"2022-04-22T12:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=20575"},"modified":"2022-04-22T12:14:59","modified_gmt":"2022-04-22T12:14:59","slug":"man-docked-for-allegedly-stealing-dates-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/22\/man-docked-for-allegedly-stealing-dates-others\/","title":{"rendered":"Man docked for allegedly stealing dates, others"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Umar was on Friday docked in Sharia Court\u00a0 in Kano for allegedly stealing dates worth N27,000.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The police charged Umar, who resides in Hotoro Quarters, Kano with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/30\/insecurity-el-rufai-warns-communities-against-shielding-criminals\/\">criminal<\/a> trespass and theft.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdul Wada, told the court that Muhammed Lawal, of Fagge Quarters, Kano, reported the matter at the Fagge Police Division, Kano on April 19.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Wada said that the defendant criminally trespassed into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/31\/security-guard-bags-8-months-imprisonment-for-stealing-employers-generator\/\">complainant\u2019s<\/a> temporary shop and stole dates worth N27,000\u00a0\u00a0 and two wrappers worth N9,000.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The prosecutor told the court that when the defendant was arrested, the stolen items were recovered from him.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said the offence contravened\u00a0 the provisions of sections 120 and 131 Sharia Penal Code Law.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N15,000 with one reliable surety who resides within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/22\/kano-states-anti-graft-agency-threatens-to-arrest-consumer-council-boss\/\">state<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Khalid adjourned the matter until May 3\u00a0 for summary trial.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Umar was on Friday docked in Sharia Court\u00a0 in Kano for allegedly stealing dates worth N27,000.
