Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), Nomadic Health for Jowro, on Tuesday called for sustained\u00a0<em>malaria<\/em> preventive programs in nomadic communizes.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/23\/i-served-pdp-well-its-time-for-party-to-reward-me-former-enugu-state-chairman\/\">chairman<\/a> of the NGO, Mr Idris Adamu, made the call in an interview with our correspondent in Kano.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201dTo ensure maximum uptake, mass\u00a0<em>campaigns<\/em>\u00a0need to be taken to these\u00a0<em>communities to ensure that\u00a0<\/em>nomadic communities are not left behind on malaria-related issues and other health matters.<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">\u201dHealth related issues in our communities are mixed with many myths and there is need for government to carry out enlightenment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/25\/nigeria-to-host-global-tourism-conference-in-november-lai-mohammed\/\">campaigns<\/a> to reduce these myths.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201dMany malaria symptoms are considered spiritual or diabolic and many people fall victims of many\u00a0 accusations in nomadic communities,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">Adamu, however, appealed to the state government to embark on advocacy to enlighten nomadic community leaders on issues on health and importance of accessing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/25\/igp-urges-personnel-to-utilise-police-health-facilities-nationwide\/\">health<\/a> facilities.<\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"line_space\" dir=\"auto\">He also appealed to the state government to always include nomads in free distribution of medication and mosquitoes treated insecticidal nets.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In another news, the Old Boys Association (Alumni Class of 2001), Christ The King College (CKC), Gwagwalada Abuja, has donated food items and toiletries to City of Refuge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/24\/maintain-good-relationship-with-your-spouses-children-nscdc-charges-officers\/\">Orphanage<\/a> to cushion their burden and needs.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Mr Martin Abanobi, the President of the association, while donating the items on Sunday, said the gesture is an annual charity visit to support the less privileged.<\/p>\n<p>Abanobi said it was the group\u2019s way of showing its social responsibilities to the indigent in the society.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the association, which came into existence in 2010, has charity work as one of it\u2019s mandate to give back to the society to help vulnerable individuals.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the association also aimed at complementing government efforts at bringing succour to the needy in line with national development.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cIt is our little way of partnering with the less privileged in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/18\/media-practitioners-salute-muslim-students-society-68\/\">society<\/a> having recognised the need for us to assist those who are in need of our support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a clever way of sending message to members of the public that all of us have to be our brothers\u2019 keeper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Receiving the items, Mrs Kara Kureh, the Coordinator of the Orphanage, thanked the association for the support and promised that the items would be used to carter for the children.<\/p>\n<p>Reports have it\u00a0 that noodles, cartons of minerals, toiletries, beverages and cash <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/19\/my-donations-to-schools-humanitarian-not-political-says-obi\/\">donations<\/a> were formally presented to the
