The National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) says preparations are underway to ensure a smooth 18th Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises<\/a> summit and exhibition in Abuja on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the Executive Secretary of NASME, Mr Eke Ubiji, on Sunday in Abuja, the event would provide an opportunity for industry experts to discuss a regulatory framework for full participation in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA)<\/p>\n

According to Ubiji, the event will draw attention to the AfCFTA’s enormous potential for economic development through job creation, income generation, and structural transformation of African countries’ economies in general, and Nigeria’s economy in particular.<\/p>\n

The summit’s theme is “Positioning MSMEs for Opportunities in African Continental Free Trade Agreements.”<\/p>\n

“The event promises to attract stakeholders, industry captains, and participants from all walks of life to Abuja to witness several carefully planned activities, including panel discussions and networking.”<\/p>\n

“Others include the exhibition of locally manufactured products and services by our cherished MSMEs from across Nigeria,” he added.<\/p>\n

Ubiji went on to say that issues such as financing options for full AfCFTA participation, threats and opportunities in creating a single market, as well as enhancing competitiveness and creating more profitable opportunities for MSMEs through the AfCFTA, would be discussed.<\/p>\n

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President, will declare the event open, and Maryam Katagum, Minister of State, Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, will deliver the keynote address.<\/p>\n

Governors of North Central states, Ministers of relevant Ministries, Director Generals\/CEOs of Federal and State MDAs, and representatives from the Organized Private Sector are also expected (OPS).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
