In the 80 fire incidents recorded in the state in November, the Kano State Fire Service saved 81 lives and N60.6 million in property.<\/h2>\n

The statistics were provided by Saminu Abdullahi, the service’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), in a statement released to newsmen on Sunday in Kano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the period under review, 49 lives were lost and property worth N28.6 million was destroyed by fire, according to him.<\/p>\n

“From residents of the state, the service responded to 62 rescue calls and 19 false alarms,” he added.<\/p>\n

The majority of the fires, according to Abdullahi, were caused by careless handling of cooking gas and the use of subpar electrical appliances.<\/p>\n

To prevent fires from spreading, he advised residents to always handle fires with caution.<\/p>\n

The PRO also urged parents to prevent their children from swimming in open water and to closely monitor their movements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
