{"id":22914,"date":"2022-05-04T10:44:57","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T10:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=22914"},"modified":"2022-05-04T10:44:57","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T10:44:57","slug":"frsc-orders-commanding-officers-to-physically-supervise-deployment-of-personnel-logistics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/04\/frsc-orders-commanding-officers-to-physically-supervise-deployment-of-personnel-logistics\/","title":{"rendered":"FRSC orders Commanding Officers to physically supervise deployment of personnel, logistics"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)\u00a0 has ordered \u00a0Commanding Officers to physically supervise the deployment of staff and logistics to identified critical locations across the country.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Corps Marshall, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, said the directive was to ensure good\u00a0 visibility of the Corps and proactiveness towards preventing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/21\/police-rescue-5-human-trafficking-victims-arrest-10-suspected-prostitutes-in-delta\/\">traffic<\/a> jams as travellers returned from their various locations.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Oyeyemi said this in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO) Bisi Kazeem in Abuja.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Oyeyemi said the directives were to combat gridlocks that might hinder the smooth flow of traffic as the Eid-EL Fitr holiday-makers began to travel back after the celebration.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He said that the directives also affected\u00a0 to Zonal Commanding Officers, Sector Commanders, Corridor Commanders and Unit Commanders all over the country.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to him, patrol <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/02\/11\/un-deploys-emergency-teams-to-madagascar-in-a-bid-to-end-cyclone-batsirai-disaster\/\">teams<\/a> must remain on their routes till 1900HRS when traffic volume is expected to have reduced drastically.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cRescue teams are to be on standby in all commands to take care of emergencies, \u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Oyeyemi also directed that pictures of traffic situations from critical locations prone to traffic gridlock must be forwarded to the monitoring team.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This, he said, was to guarantee efficient monitoring of the critical routes, and control room at the headquarters to reassure management of free movement of vehicles.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cExpectedly, the sector commanders are to consistently supervise the activities of the unit Commanders under them\u00a0 to ensure adequate supervision of their routes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe identified critical locations are: Hawan kibo, mararaban Jos, Zuba Junction, Giri Junction, Gidan waya, Iwo Road Roundabout.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cSagamu exchange, Ore \/Ondo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/12\/tanzania-kenya-to-exchange-wild-animals-to-increase-reproduction\/\">exchange<\/a>, Oluku junction, Abia Tower, Odukpani Junction, Jebba, Mokwa, Gombe Town byePass, Jere, Tafa, Dikko U-Turn, and NATACO Junction.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cOthers include Kotonkarfe, Gwagwalada, Akungba Junction, Mowe, Ibafo, Ibuza Junction, Upper Iweka, Onitsha Head bridge, Ossisioma Junction, Benin byePass, Zariagi Junction, Okene township, Ewu Junction, \u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Oyeyemi commended the motoring public for their cooperation so far and enjoined them to continue complying with road traffic rules and regulations.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This he said, were to achieve the envisioned zero road traffic crashes during and beyond the period.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He therefore, called on the public to utilise the FRSC toll-free number 122 to report emergencies and gridlocks as well as tune to the National Traffic Radio 107.1FM for real- time traffic update.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)\u00a0 has ordered \u00a0Commanding Officers to physically supervise the deployment of staff and logistics to identified critical locations across the country.
