He made the assurance at the Nigerian Christian Centre in Abuja on Sunday during the NTA and VON annual Service of Nine Lessons and a Christmas Carol.<\/p>\n
The theme of the 2021 service of nine lessons is “Peace, Be Still,” which is taken from the Book of Mark Chapter 4:35-41.<\/p>\n
According to him, the theme was appropriate because Nigeria and the rest of the world are facing security, social, and economic challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
“As Christians, the desired calmness is required for the manifestation of our work,” he said.<\/p>\n
He also stated that the theme, ‘Peace, be still,’ carries three lessons: “there will be storms, but peace will follow.”<\/p>\n
“Words of courage and power should be declared with faith and candour even in the midst of the storm.”<\/p>\n
The archbishop emphasized that the power of faith can transform any situation, no matter how difficult.<\/p>\n
As a result, he advised Christians to pray to God to transform the country’s problems into “peace and prosperity.”<\/p>\n
Kaigama praised the media for its invaluable contributions to nation building and urged media practitioners to focus on strengthening social discourse, national identity, and revitalization.<\/p>\n
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is an annual Christian worship service commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
In nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books, and the Gospels, the story of humanity’s fall, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told.<\/p>\n
Christmas carols, hymns, and choir music were interspersed throughout the event.<\/p>\n
