{"id":24178,"date":"2022-05-12T14:44:24","date_gmt":"2022-05-12T14:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=24178"},"modified":"2022-05-12T14:44:24","modified_gmt":"2022-05-12T14:44:24","slug":"man-arraigned-for-allegedly-stealing-property-worth-n100600","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/12\/man-arraigned-for-allegedly-stealing-property-worth-n100600\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arraigned for allegedly stealing property worth N100,600"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>A 36-year-old man, Kayode Oketunde was on Thursday, docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court, for allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/04\/ex-convict-bags-7-years-imprisonment-for-stealing-in-ekiti\/\">stealing<\/a> musical equipment and other items worth N100,600.<\/p>\n<p>The police charged Oketunde, whose address was not given, with theft, breaking in, and entering.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Nkem Nkor, told the court that the defendant committed the offenses on April 19, at about 1:00 a:m, on Morogbo Road, Magbon area of Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>Nkor alleged that the defendant unlawfully broke into the house of one Adunni Adeleye, the complainant, with the intent to commit a felony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant stole a Sunwei generator valued at N85,000, half a bag of rice valued at N15,000, and two electrical bulbs valued at N600. The total value of all the property stolen is N100,600,\u201d the prosecutor said.<\/p>\n<p>The offenses contravened the provisions of sections 307 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000, with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n<p>Adekomaiya adjourned the case until June 13, for further mention.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 36-year-old man, Kayode Oketunde was on Thursday, docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court, for allegedly stealing musical equipment and other items worth N100,600.
