{"id":24465,"date":"2022-05-13T21:50:22","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T21:50:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=24465"},"modified":"2022-05-13T21:50:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T21:50:22","slug":"lasu-takes-free-medical-outreach-to-ikorodu-300-benefit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/13\/lasu-takes-free-medical-outreach-to-ikorodu-300-benefit\/","title":{"rendered":"LASU takes free medical outreach to Ikorodu, 300 benefit"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The Lagos State University (LASU) on Friday took a free medical screening programme to Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with over 300 residents benefiting.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652445958204\">The screening was put together by\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652446164884\">LASU Directorate of Advancement (LASUDA)<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447364238\">Office of the Vice-Chancellor,<\/span>\u00a0Ojo,\u00a0<span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447405924\">\u00a0for the gown (academics) to meet with the town (community).<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv6495915465yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652444930758\"><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447493266\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv6495915465yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652444930758\"><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447402326\">Bl<\/span><span id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652446217351\">ood pressure checkups, blood glucose, HIV test, hepatitis B test, eye screening, breast cancer screening, cervical screening and prostate cancer screening were carried out on beneficiaries.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yiv6495915465yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652444930758\">\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652446451562\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652446459180\">The Director, LASUDA, Prof. Yinka Okubena Dipeolu, in her remarks, appreciated the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA for embracing the health programme.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447187295\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447187866\">Okubena-Dipeolu said that it was the first LCDA that single handedly funded the health programme.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447234423\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447236576\">\u201cIn most cases, the LASU will always support other local governments, but for Ikorodu North LCDA, the Chairman paid the bills.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447295697\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447297546\">\u201cWe have done this health programme in Ikeja, now Ikorodu and the next one will be in Epe by next week,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652446466509\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652447178424\">Mr Adeola Banjo, Chairman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/03\/12\/export-trade-npa-flags-off-ikorodu-export-processing-terminal\/\">Ikorodu<\/a> North LCDA, said the council was committed to ensuring that the people had easy access to health care services.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652448219223\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1652448219447\">Banjo said that the LCDA was also creating more awareness on the need for regular health check-up in the community.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos State University (LASU) on Friday took a free medical screening programme to Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with over 300 residents benefiting.
