{"id":24965,"date":"2022-05-17T15:11:21","date_gmt":"2022-05-17T15:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=24965"},"modified":"2022-05-17T15:11:21","modified_gmt":"2022-05-17T15:11:21","slug":"unemployed-arraigned-for-allegedly-stealing-iron","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/17\/unemployed-arraigned-for-allegedly-stealing-iron\/","title":{"rendered":"Unemployed arraigned for allegedly stealing iron"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">An unemployed man, Umar Tijani, was on Tuesday brought before an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/12\/court-frees-man-accused-of-defiling-impregnating-14-year-old-girl\/\"><b>Upper Area Court<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly stealing an iron worth N3,500.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The police charged Tijani, who has no fixed address, with trespass and theft.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor, Mr Abdulahi Tanko, told the court that Mr Abubakar Aliyu of Phase II Gwagwalada, Abuja, reported the case at a police station on May 15.<\/p>\n<p>Tanko said that the defendant trespassed into a barricade of Chelstone School and stole a big iron used to mount a barricade in the school.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the iron had been recovered from the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Tanko said that the offences contravened the provision of Sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.<\/p>\n<p>The Judge, Mr Sani Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety in like sum.<\/p>\n<p>Umar ruled that the surety must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and his\u00a0address verified.<\/p>\n<p>He adjourned the case until June 22 for substantive hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An unemployed man, Umar Tijani, was on Tuesday brought before an Upper Area Court\u00a0in Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly stealing an iron worth N3,500.
