{"id":25729,"date":"2022-05-22T19:05:20","date_gmt":"2022-05-22T19:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=25729"},"modified":"2022-05-22T19:05:20","modified_gmt":"2022-05-22T19:05:20","slug":"market-project-excites-ikole-ekiti-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/22\/market-project-excites-ikole-ekiti-traders\/","title":{"rendered":"Market project excites Ikole-Ekiti traders"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Some<span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> traders in Ikole-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti have commended the Council Chairman, Mr Sola Olominu for building a modern neighbourhood market in the area.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div id=\"m#msg-a:r1734160245270655804\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A cross section of the traders who spoke with our correspondent, on Sunday in Ikole -Ekiti, described the project as a \u201cwelcome <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/05\/21\/eu-development-ministers-discuss-looming-global-food-crisis\/\">development<\/a>.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mrs Bukola Ogundana, a tomato seller, expressed joy over the construction of the modern market equipped with the needed facilities.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ogundana said that it would assist traders to expand their businesses and make additional profits.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">She commended the chairman for the feat achieved towards creating an enabling environment for the traders.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Another trader, Mr Adebola Ogunsakin, a meat seller, hailed the local council administration for creating a conducive business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/28\/nafdac-seeks-collaboration-in-advancement-of-regulatory-environment\/\">environment<\/a> for the traders in the community.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ogunsakin said that most of the traders were delighted to have a better market that would enable them to display their goods and make better profits.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cI commend the chairman of Ikole LGC, Mr Sola Olominu on the newly market built for us.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe traders in the community are happy and we promised to ensure effective utilisation of the facilities provided in the market,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mr Bayode Fatoba, a grain trader, said that the new market would enable traders to own shops to display their wares.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The gesture, he said, would protect traders against losses, especially during raining season due to lack of shops to stock their goods.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cPersonally, I am delighted with the plans the Council Chairman has for the traders in the area.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cSome traders does not have a shop to keep their goods, some of them keep it in the cars while others kept their good fellow traders who have stores in the market.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWith the newly built market, some of them will have a space to display their goods and it will be safe,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">For her part, Mrs Dupe Ogunjobi, a yam seller, lauded Olominu for giving the traders the privilege to benefit from his administration.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ogunjobi, who has been in the trade for over two years, said the gesture would availed her opportunity to own a shop as against displaying her goods in the open.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWith the available shops in the newly built market, I will apply for a shop to do my business,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Reports have it that Olominu on May 16, inaugurated the new market located along Ikole-Ekiti and Omuo-Ekiti Roads.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The council boss also laid foundation for health centre project designed with solar electricity and good security network to promote welfare of traders, boost trade and commercial activities in the market.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some traders in Ikole-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti have commended the Council Chairman, Mr Sola Olominu for building a modern neighbourhood market in the area.
