Israeli archaeologists have discovered the remains of a farm in the country\u2019s north that they believe is 2,100 years old.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n

Among other things, dozens of loom weights, large ceramic storage vessels and agricultural tools such as pickaxes and scythes were found, the Israel Antiquities Authority<\/strong><\/a> announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Also coins dating back to the second half of the second century BC were found.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were very lucky to discover a time-capsule, frozen in time, in which the finds remained where they were left by the occupants of the site,\u2019\u2019 Amani Abu-Hamid, the director of the excavation, said in the press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems that they left in haste in face of an impending danger, possibly the threat of a military attack.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The remains were discovered during excavations before the start of a project on the Sea of Galilee, the press release continued.<\/p>\n

However, desalinated water is to be piped into the lake in order to maintain the water level.<\/p>\n

The farm was discovered west of the lake.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
