{"id":29173,"date":"2022-06-11T03:48:55","date_gmt":"2022-06-11T03:48:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=29173"},"modified":"2022-06-11T03:48:55","modified_gmt":"2022-06-11T03:48:55","slug":"naddc-d-g-inaugurates-2322-made-in-nigeria-buses-bought-by-rtean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/11\/naddc-d-g-inaugurates-2322-made-in-nigeria-buses-bought-by-rtean\/","title":{"rendered":"NADDC D-G inaugurates 2,322 Made-in-Nigeria buses bought by RTEAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\"><\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Mr Jelani Aliyu, the Director-General,\u00a0 National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), has inaugurated 2,322 gas-powered Made-in-Nigeria buses bought by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).<\/p>\n<p>Reports have it that the vehicles were procured by the association for its fleets in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/07\/apc-still-in-discussion-on-the-possibility-of-a-consensus-candidate-ahead-of-primary-kyari\/\"> 774 local government areas<\/a> in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Inaugurating the buses on Friday in Abuja, Aliyu said:\u201dIt s very exciting to see that all the vehicles were built in Nigeria by an indigenous company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI hereby congratulate the Executive National Chairman of RTEAN, Alhaji Musa Maitakobi, for the commitment to buy the Nigerian built OMAA vehicles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The director-general further called on all transport associations in the country to emulate the RTEAN and key into the N<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/08\/its-worrying-wealthy-nations-are-restricting-investment-in-fossil-fuels-osinbajo\/\">ational Gas Expansion Programme,<\/a> by patronising Made-in-Nigeria Gas Powered Vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Aliyu said: \u201dWhat was witnessed was a testimony to the fact that the implementation of the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) by the NADDC is yielding results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe CNG powered vehicles produced locally by OMAA Motors, will make transportation cheaper for the commuters and also save lives and protect the environment because it is a cleaner fuel compared to petrol and diesel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs one of the 195 signatories to the Paris Accord on the mitigation of greenhouse gases, Nigeria must leverage on the huge reserves of natural gases as a transition fuel.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr Jelani Aliyu, the Director-General,\u00a0 National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), has inaugurated 2,322 gas-powered Made-in-Nigeria buses bought by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
