{"id":29778,"date":"2022-06-14T12:06:22","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T12:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=29778"},"modified":"2022-06-14T12:06:22","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T12:06:22","slug":"court-remands-man-for-allegedly-stealing-phone-worth-n55000-sim-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/14\/court-remands-man-for-allegedly-stealing-phone-worth-n55000-sim-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Court remands man for allegedly stealing phone worth N55,000, sim cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">\u00a0A Shari\u2019a Court in Kano, on Tuesday ordered that a 20-year-old man, Abba Umar, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly stealing an Infinix handset worth N55,000 and two sim cards.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The police charged Umar, who lives in Fagge, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/05\/police-arrest-suspected-fabricator-of-vehicles-master-keys-for-criminals-in-kano\/\">criminal<\/a> trespass and theft.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Presiding Judge, Malam Ismai\u2019l Mohammed-Ahmed, adjourned the matter until July 5, for further mention.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Earlier, the Prosecution counsel, Mr Abdul Wada, had told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 11, at Rufai\u2019l House, Wapa Fagge Quarters, Kano.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Wada alleged that on the said date at 1:40 p.m., the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2021\/12\/17\/administrative-injustices-public-complainant-commission-announce-partnership-with-noa\/\">complainant<\/a>, one Abdulhamid, had put his Infinix handset to charge, in the shop where both of them carried out their businesses, and also kept two sim cards close to the handset.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe defendant criminally trespassed into the shop and made away with the phone, he was sighted on the CCTV camera in the shop.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Wada noted that the offence contravened Section 133 of the Kano State Sharia Law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0A Shari\u2019a Court in Kano, on Tuesday ordered that a 20-year-old man, Abba Umar, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly stealing an Infinix handset worth N55,000 and two sim cards.
