{"id":30264,"date":"2022-06-17T09:33:06","date_gmt":"2022-06-17T09:33:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=30264"},"modified":"2022-06-17T09:33:06","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T09:33:06","slug":"develop-new-routes-to-grow-nations-aviation-industry-onyema-tasks-fg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/17\/develop-new-routes-to-grow-nations-aviation-industry-onyema-tasks-fg\/","title":{"rendered":"Develop new routes to grow nation\u2019s aviation industry &#8211; Onyema tasks FG"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">The Chairman of Air Peace, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/01\/airline-operators-threaten-to-sue-fg-over-multiple-entries-for-foreign-airlines\/\"><strong>Mr Allen Onyema<\/strong><\/a> has called on the Federal and State Governments to develop new routes to grow the nation\u2019s aviation industry.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Onyema made the call while speaking on the topic \u201c Challenges of Route Development in Nigeria\u2019s Aviation \u201c at the maiden edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/17\/faan-embarks-on-ppp-to-reduce-government-financial-burden-sirika\/\"><strong>FAAN National Aviation Conference (FNAC)<\/strong> <\/a>on Thursday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the event is \u201cAdvancing the Frontiers of Possibilities for Safe, Secure and Profitable Air Transport. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>According to him, air connectivity will boost the economy of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>He said that airlines were ready to fly to any part of the country once the route is well developed by the government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c Federal Government and State Governments should help to support the airlines by developing the place for the airlines to come over. We need government support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExperts should be employed to keep data of the new routes as guide for airlines to utilise for decision making and planning \u201c he said.<\/p>\n<p>Onyema also appealed to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to give more space for airlines to operate at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>He urged fellow airlines to strengthen mutual understanding to cut the cost of their operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Air Peace boss cited inadequate equipment, low traffic and lack of government support among others as challenges of route development in the country.<\/p>\n<p>FAAN Managing Director, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, said that the viability and profitability of developing routes were highly paramount to the government.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, small airports contributed low to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).<\/p>\n<p>Yadudu, however, said the government would not stop developing the new route to encourage airlines to patronise them and to promote civilisation in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to develop and profitably manage customer-centric airport facilities for safe, secure and efficient carriage of passengers and goods as world-class standards of quality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur vision is to be among the best airport groups in the world, \u201c he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairman of Air Peace, Mr Allen Onyema has called on the Federal and State Governments to develop new routes to grow the nation\u2019s aviation industry.
