Mr Kayode Ojo, a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti, has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for using the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) to conduct the state governorship election.<\/p>\n

Ojo told our correspondent that his Ikoro-Ekiti home town in Ijero Local Government area<\/a> that the BVAS innovation made the election seamless.<\/p>\n

He also lauded the orderly conduct of the electorate during the election.<\/p>\n

Reports have it that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is an electronic device designed to read the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and authenticate voters using the voters\u2019 fingerprints to prove that they are eligible to vote at a particular polling unit.<\/p>\n

Ojo commended residents of the state for the peaceful and rancour-free manner they conducted themselves during the governorship election<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said that the innovation introduced to the election, made it free, fair and violent-free.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe process of voting in my unit took me less than five minutes; the process of this innovation is second to none in the history of voting in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of this new innovation, the election has been peaceful so far; there is no problem of ballot snatching, violence or report of crisis from any angle across the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me, therefore, charge the losers in this election to see the exercise as a win win situation,\u201d Ojo said.<\/p>\n

According to him, there will always be another time for those who are not able to make it now.<\/p>\n
