The Movement of Progressive Youth of Nigeria, an APC support group for presidential ambition of former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi,<\/strong> <\/a>has promised to collapse its structure to support Sen. Bola Tinubu\u2019s 2023 presidential ambition.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n

\n

The South-West Coordinator of the pro-Amaechi group, Mr Muritala Audu gave the promise on Saturday in a congratulatory message to Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate.<\/p>\n

Audu, a chieftain of the APC, expressed confidence that Tinubu, a former Lagos state governor, possessed huge experiences to win the\u00a0 2023 presidential election for APC.<\/p>\n

The coordinator said: \u201cI am confidently\u00a0 optimistic of Tinubu\u2019s success in the\u00a0 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promise to collapse the support groups across the country in my care for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT)<\/strong> <\/a>2023 project so that the largest party in the African soil (APC) can continue to provide qualitative services to the people of Nigeria beyond 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pledge my unbridled loyalty to Tinubu\u2019s mandate as freely given to him by our great party, APC.<\/p>\n

He described the APC Special Convention held from\u00a0 June 6 to\u00a0 8 in Abuja as \u201cTinubu\u2019s convention\u201d because of supports from major presidential aspirants that stepped down in Tinubu\u2019s favour at the peak of the convention.<\/p>\n

According to him, Tinubu\u2019s tenacity and virile contributions over the years to the advancement of democracy in Nigeria stand him out among his contemporaries.<\/p>\n

He said that this paved way for Tinubu as being proven by\u00a0 results of the presidential primaries.<\/p>\n

Audu added: \u201cHaven emerged as our party\u2019s presidential flag bearer, this is the time to rally round Asiwaju Tinubu,\u00a0 irrespective of our individual pre-convention preferences.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood enough, Asiwaju is a leader with stellar qualities that are marketable and acceptable to the Nigerian people, his intimidating experiences will be harnessed in building a prosperous Nigeria,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Audu, however,\u00a0 advised the APC\u00a0 national leadership to urgently inaugurate a post- primaries reconciliatory committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing forward, this is the time to strengthen the\u00a0 APC unity in order to confront the oppositions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo achieve this, I urge\u00a0 President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu and other national leaders of the party to ensure that the party\u2019s unity remains intact.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee should be charged with the responsibility of amending any cracks and providing political compensations where possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese and many more should be done so that our party can go out as a united front and return home with victory in 2023,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Recall that Tinubu, defeated 13 other aspirants, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to clinch the APC\u00a0 ticket for the 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Tinubu, one of the national leaders of the ruling party, polled 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rival, former Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi who got 316 votes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
