{"id":30848,"date":"2022-06-20T11:28:02","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T11:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=30848"},"modified":"2022-06-20T11:28:02","modified_gmt":"2022-06-20T11:28:02","slug":"court-remands-man-for-alleged-malicious-damage-breach-of-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/20\/court-remands-man-for-alleged-malicious-damage-breach-of-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"Court remands man for alleged malicious damage, breach of peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Ilesa Magistrates\u2019 Court in Osun on Monday, remanded one Adebayo Kayode, 33, over alleged malicious damage and breach of public peace.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Insp Kehinde Ojugbele, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/17\/poor-funding-may-turn-supreme-court-to-glorified-high-court-says-ex-cjn\/\">court<\/a> that the defendant committed the offence on June 17, 2022, around 8pm at Isokun Roundabout Area, Ilesa.<\/p>\n<p>Ojugbele said that the defendant conspired with others, now at large, to commit misdemeanor to wit: malicious damage and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner that may likely caused the breach of the peace by criminally and unlawfully destroying the poster and bill boards of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/02\/2023-elections-pdp-chairman-tasks-party-leaders-aspirants-to-work-in-unity\/\">People Democratic Party (PDP)<\/a> pasted and erected at Isokun Roundabout.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the offence contravened sections 249(d) and 517 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of: malicious damage and breach of peace.<\/p>\n<p>The Defence Counsel, Mr Chidera Eze, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in most Liberal term, promising that his client would not jump bail, but would provide reliable sureties.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/03\/reports-accusing-police-of-locking-up-a-magistrate-fake-news-ppro\/\">Magistrate<\/a>, Mrs M. A.
