The Kano State House of Assembly<\/a> has elected Alhaji Kabiru Dashi (APC-Kiru) as its deputy speaker following the resignation of Malam Zubairu Massu who defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Dashi\u2019s election followed his nomination by Sale Marke (APC-Dawakin-Tofa) at plenary on Monday.<\/p>\n

The nomination was seconded by Nuhu Achika (APC-Wudil), after which the lawmakers affirmed his election as the new deputy speaker.<\/p>\n

Dashi was immediately sworn in by the director, of house legal matters, Malam Nasidi Aliyu at a plenary presided over by Speaker Hamisu Chidari.<\/p>\n

Chidari congratulated Dashi on his election and assured him of the house support.<\/p>\n
