{"id":31053,"date":"2022-06-21T19:12:40","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T19:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/?p=31053"},"modified":"2022-06-21T19:12:40","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T19:12:40","slug":"court-remands-2-for-allegedly-stealing-phones-worth-n700000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/06\/21\/court-remands-2-for-allegedly-stealing-phones-worth-n700000\/","title":{"rendered":"Court remands 2 for allegedly stealing phones worth N700,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\" aria-label=\"Content\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/broadnews\/2022\/04\/14\/assault-magistrate-orders-housewife-to-sweep-court-premises-for-5-days\/\"><strong>Ile-Ife Magistrates\u2019 Court<\/strong><\/a> in Osun, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of two persons, Dayo Oyebamiji and Bukola Adebayo, over allegedly stealing six mobile phones, worth N700,000.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that Oyebamiji, 29 and Adebayo, 21, committed the offences between 9:30 p.m. on June 9 and 6:00 a.m. on June 10, at Ilesa Motor Park Area, Ile-Ife.<\/p>\n<p>Osanyintuyi said that the defendants conspired with others, now at large, to commit felony to wit: breaking, entering\u00a0and stealing.<\/p>\n<p>He further told the court that the defendants broke and entered the workshop of one Olasode Olawale and carted away six mobile phones.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor listed the phones to include: OPPO A15; Gionee 715; Infinix X557; Tecno LA V1; Infinix Hot V111 and Sony Erission, all valued at N700,000, property of Olasode Olawale.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the offences contravene Sections 383, 390(9), 413 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of breaking, entering and stealing.<\/p>\n<p>The Defence Counsel, Mrs Innocental Akhigbe, applied for the bail of her client in most liberal term, with a promise that they would not jump bail, but produce substantial sureties.<\/p>\n<p>The Magistrate, O. B.
