Lagos State Government has announced that the construction of 44 Factory Units at Imota Light Industrial Park is at 86 per cent completion.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n

\n

The State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr Lola Akande made the disclosure at the closing ceremony of the 7th edition of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME<\/strong><\/a>s) Exclusive Fair held on Sunday at Lagos Television Blue Roof, Ikeja.<\/p>\n

The MSMEs Exclusive Fair is an annual exhibition of indigenous products especially the residents and the Lagos State funded schemes.<\/p>\n

Akande said the industrial light park was part of Lagos state government\u2019s efforts to create a conducive environment for the Organized Private Sector and other stakeholders in the state.<\/p>\n

She assured members of the business community that the State Government remained committed to improving the business environment towards making it more attractive for investment in the sector.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner noted that the factory was one of government efforts at enhancing the growth of MSMEs.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIn a bid to continue to compliment the Small Scale Industrial Estates at Mushin and Isolo as well as the Industrial shed at Sabo in Ikorodu, plans are ongoing to develop a new Small Scale Industrial Estate at Gberigbe, Ikorodu..<\/p>\n

\u201cThe State Government remains committed to providing a conducive environment for the Organised Private Sector and other stakeholders through continuous engagement in the implementation of policies, regulations and projects as they impact the business prosperity of the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akande noted that other projects\/programmes for the MSMEs include the Eko MSMEs Fashion Hub established in collaboration with the Federal Government to boost the fashion and apparel industry.<\/p>\n

\u201d The e-Commerce digital platform created to showcase MSMEs products and services to the world and the establishment of Lagos State Export Promotion Committee to promote the marketability of locally made products.<\/p>\n

\u201cOthers include the Lagos Council on MSMEs, a broad-based platform comprising State and Federal Government agencies for the harmonisation of State-wide dispensation of national and local MSME promotion, policies, measures and programmes.<\/p>\n

The National Awareness and Sensitization Tour to promote the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (ACFTAA).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe commemoration of the African Industrialization Day\/Young African Industrialists Week during which business clinics were held to deepen the knowledge of MSMEs,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The commissioner, therefore, urged the exhibitors and other MSMEs as curtains were drawn to end the Exclusive Fair to take full advantage of the numerous benefits available in AFCFTA and the relevant stakeholders of various government agencies.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu<\/strong><\/a> of Lagos closing the fair wished the exhibitors and participants the best in their future endeavors and businesses.<\/p>\n

Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to some of the exhibitors for distinguishing themselves at the fair.<\/p>\n

The awardees are; Fashion & Accessories category won by Bimbeads Concept, Health Fitness category by Tonics Bathing Soap, for the Clothing & Textiles cartegory was won by Sisi Aladire Entreprises.<\/p>\n

Manna House, Finzad, Azarel and Asian Natural Cosmetics, winners in Best Social Media, Food& Beverages, Cosmetics and Household cartegories respectively.<\/p>\n

Similarly, cash prizes of 1million, 500,000, 250,000 and gifts were won respectively in a raffle draw organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
